What description or title can you use if you are in the real estate business?
It used to be “Salesperson” etc. or “Broker” if you took a few additional Courses.
Many people balked at the “sales” aspect of things. They thought that it wasn’t particularly “professional”.
So, when the first phase of TRESA came into effect, the scope was broadened to include:
- Salesperson The terms “salesperson”, “real estate agent”, “real estate salesperson”, “sales representative”, “real estate sales representative”, “REALTOR®”*, “REALTOR® salesperson”
- Broker The terms “broker”, “broker real estate agent”, “real estate agent”, or “real estate broker”, “REALTOR®”*, “REALTOR® broker”

What they don’t seem to clarify anywhere is how Teams must be identified.

You are right. That point is just overlooked.
Hey Brian, what about the word or term “specialist”? When can that be used (if any)?

Not until RECO deals with it after TRESA is in force.
and still no recognition of ‘commercial real estate salesperson’, ‘business salesperson’, ‘business broker’, etc. for those of us who do not do residential in our normal practise.

Wait until after TRESA is in force.
