Signing the Acknowledgement in Advance

Question:

Is it OK to sign the Acknowledgement on standard form OREA Agreements of Purchase and Sale in advance. I have noticed that may agentys do this. It would be a big timesaver?

Answer:

It is foolhardy to sign this Acknowledgement in advance.

It just makes you look negligent. It would be helpful to have the lawyer’s information filled in ahead of time.

This is always identified in an Expert Witness Report should the matter eventually go to Court for some reason.

It demonstrates that you are not familiar with the Form, lazy, or prepared to breach the rules. No matter what it’s most unwise!
