Life Expectancy and 5 Year Mortality

Here’s a combined chart showing both:

• the expected remaining life expectancy (left axis, blue and purple lines), and
• the 5-year mortality risk (right axis, red dashed line).

It clearly shows how remaining years decline gradually while mortality risk accelerates sharply after about age 75.
