Not really, most of the value, pricing and amenities associated with real estate is available generally. It’s not “local”.
It’s published on the internet. If you use Google, then, you can find it.
Agents are registered in Ontario to act professionally. That’s just the same for lawyers, accountants, and doctors. Effectively, there is no real “local knowledge”. Anything that needs to be known and is relevant can be determined by someone who is professional.
Naturally, there are exceptions. Some people are relatively poor agents and never ask any of the right questions. Does that suddenly make them an “expert” where they live?
