Everyone is looking for a way to increase the value of their homes. But, what if you’re in a condominium townhouse development, it may not be quite so easy.
However, it may be as simple as installing some security cameras around the complex and posting some signs:
Premises under surveillance 24/7
That’s really all you need to do. The fact of the matter is that it conveys the impression that this condo complex cares about security. That scares off the bad guys.
Place cameras in a position to view all of the exterior areas of the complex. The most important camera will show the licence plates of who is coming and going. If there’s a problem, then pull the video, report the plate number to the police. And, make an internal record. This will help the resale values of all units in the complex. The value of the properties all go up, and the increased equity more than pays for the cost of the installation of the cameras and the monitoring.
Let your property management company or your board of directors know as soon as possible.
This is of particular value to small complexes of less than 150 units.
