Do you treat Easter Monday as a business day or no?
Answer:
It’s a limited day to some. That means some government offices are closed. Is it a business day? It is for some! Is it a banking day? Banks are open, not allowed to have 4 days in a row.
So, you should have had a good definition of either “business day” or “banking day” in your Agreement of Purchase and Sale. If you failed to do that then there’s uncertainty. That’s your own fault, and that extends to BOTH agents.
It would be best to use calendar days, and rather than undertake a calculation, simply specify the exact day you want. Nothing could be clearer than that.
