Disclosure: Lack of Insulation

Insulation | The Breathable Home

Question:

Seller is listing their 100+ year old house. They know there is no insulation in the walls. Does this need to be disclosed?

Answer:

There doesn’t appear to be any obligation on the Sellers to disclose this. I appreciate that it doesn’t include the most modern types of insulation used today. Wouldn’t the average person know that! Isn’t it apparent that this is a century home? The only problem here is double ending. The Sellers don’t want you to double end. Why turn down the listing based upon the possibility that the Sellers won’t agree to have you double end?
